Raw Vegan Cheesy Tapas
Here’s an old invention of mine that I know you will love! Not only is it super easy to make, it also doesn’t require fancy equipment and tastes wonderful!! Try making this for your guests next time, I’m sure they’ve never seen anything like it.
The secret in this recipe is the spicy Spanish paprika – it just gives the most incredible “smoked” taste to the dish that makes you want more and more. I personally can’t stop eating them this entire week!

Green Chilli Raw Vegan Hot Sauce (Sambal)
If you like spicy food, then this is a recipe for you! The idea for this recipe started when I was desperately trying to find an organic, raw and preservative-free substitute to a hot sauce I was using before. I love spicy things, but chilli powder doesn’t satisfy me as much, and I can’t bear using store bought jars anymore.
First, I made raw sambal (Indonesian hot sauce), but then I learnt that green chillies are better for you than red chillies are – something about them being easier on the insides. I tried it out, and I liked the taste much better! It’s still very spicy, but it’s somehow not as sharp.
This will give you about a cup and a half of sauce, and will last in the fridge for a long time. This has turned into a must-have ingredient in my house so we always have some ready to go! It’s incredibly easy to make and takes no time at all.

Gazpacho – Raw Vegan Spanish Tomato Soup
Having grown up in Spain since 1996, how could I not include a healthy gazpacho alternative?
For those who are unfamiliar with the name, gazpacho is one of the most popular Andalucian dishes, served as a starter, a tapa or main meal. It’s basically a refreshing cold tomato soup, perfect for hot summer days.
In my family, gazpacho is one of our staple foods. It’s just so easy to make, and tastes great! We even serve this to our Spanish friends and they can’t taste the difference from “normal” and raw gazpacho.
A little bit of gazpacho history
The very first gazpacho was made using just stale bread, water, vinegar and garlic, and sometimes with added vegetables. This soup was very common amongst villagers. After Columbus came back with tomatoes and cucumbers, the soup evolved into what it is today.
Traditionally it is made by crushing the vegetables using a pestle and mortar, but of course we’re not going to do that today. Unless you really want to use it, that’s always fun!

No-Bake, Sweet Cinnamon Coconut Balls – No Equipment Needed
I just spent a week catering for a retreat in Southern Spain, making delicious raw meals for a bunch of wonderful people. I didn’t need to bring any of my usual dessert ingredients (cacao butter, coconut oil, moulds, vanilla, medjool dates etc) but I really wanted to make them something sweet, so I had to improvise by using easy to find foods.
So I made them an apple cake which was really nice, but then I got home and decided to make something even easier, with no equipment at all. These coconut balls would be great fun for kids to make and they can be modified in so many different ways to suit your taste!
They are light quite soft, so don’t expect a hard and chewy dessert.
