The London tube system is a very effective way for you to travel. It can save you both time and money, and it’s easy to use. Either way, you need to top up your card with some money before it can be used. An Oyster card costs £5 to buy, but you get that money back if you decide to return it, which is great news if you’re only around for a short time!

Stand on the Right

London has a bit of an unwritten rule when it comes to escalators. You need to stand on the right if you are planning on staying in one spot on the way up. This way, everyone can pass you by on the left-hand side if they want to get up faster. By doing this, you can help to stop yourself from being caught up in traffic and you can also make the whole journey much less stressful too.

The hop-on and hop-off bus tours that go around London really are the best way for you to become acquainted with the city. They give you a better understanding of everything around you and it is also a guaranteed way for you to get wherever you need to go. You might even get a free river cruise if you do decide to book one and this is a fantastic way for you to spend the day. If you really do want to make the most out of your time in London, then it is a good idea for you to get a London pass. This will give you access to some of the attractions around town and you may even end up saving money too. If you need something to do at night, then you can always book some last minute theatre tickets and enjoy one of London’s amazing shows.

If you are going to be taking the tube, train or bus then the CityMapper App is the best way to go. It will tell you how to get to where you want to go and give you various options, depending on comfort and time of travel. It also estimates how long you will take to get somewhere, taking current traffic and tube delays into account. Basically, this is a MUST when travelling around the city!

Avoid rush hour

Just trust us, you do not want to be anywhere near the tube between 8:00-9:30 and 17:00-18:30!
